Geoffrey Seymour Hamilton Dicker, CBE, DL, DCL

Born in 1920, died in 2009 and quite a lifetime in between. A memorial service was held in Norwich Cathedral on 12th June at 11.30 in the morning.

The Cathedral was well attended; the Lord Lieutenant was represented by Vicountess Knollys; The Very Reverend Graham Smith, Dean of Norwich gave a welcome;Tributes were given by Peter Horner, his Grandson and Selina Dicker, his Granddaughter;  The Right Reverend Graham James, Bishop of Norwich gave the address; the congregation represented many different parts of his life and many prominent Freemasons were present.

He was:                  Provincial Grand Master for Norfolk Craft from 1980 to 1995

Grand Supreme Ruler for the Order of the Secret Monitor from 1992 to 1997

The following notes were written by Geoffrey Dicker and are believed to have been used on the first anniversary meeting of the Geoffrey Dicker OSM Conclave in Great Yarmouth in October 1995 in which he gives a summary of his life and interests from his birth in May 1920 until 1995 – the year in which his tenure as Provincial Grand Master for Norfolk came to an end.

These notes give a fairly detailed but unemotional account of the facts of his life and what he considered to have been his interests and achievements.
